Dmitry Bivol is a Russian professional boxer. He has held the WBA light heavyweight title since 2017, and is undefeated as a professional.
Bivol was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia, and began boxing at the age of eight. He won numerous amateur championships, including the Russian National Championships in 2009 and 2010. He turned professional in 2011, and won his first fourteen fights before being signed by World Boxing Association (WBA).
He made his debut for the organization against Cuban fighter Enrique Ornelas on December 2, 2016. Bivol knocked out Ornelas in the seventh round to win the vacant WBA interim light heavyweight title. He was promoted to full champion after successfully defending his title against Joe Smith Jr. on March 3, 2017.
