This privacy policy explains what data Alverno Alpha collects when you visit or use the site, how we use it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. We have written it in plain English because that is how policies ought to be written.
Who is the data controller
Alverno Alpha ("we", "us") is the data controller for personal data collected through this site. For queries, write to privacy@alvernoalpha.com.
What we collect
We collect three categories of information.
- Server logs. Our web server records the IP address, user-agent string, requested URL, referrer, and timestamp of every request. These are used for security, performance and abuse investigation. Retained for 30 days, then deleted or aggregated.
- Analytics. If you accept analytics cookies, an anonymised session identifier tracks aggregate page-view patterns. We do not record fingerprinting signals beyond what the browser volunteers. You can decline analytics at any time through the cookie banner.
- Newsletter subscribers. If you subscribe to the morning briefing, we store your email address and subscription timestamp. We use it only to send you the briefing and service-related emails about it. We do not sell or share this list.
What we do not collect
We do not require an account to read the site. We do not track you across other sites. We do not sell data to advertisers or data brokers. We do not use third-party ad exchanges.
Cookies
See our cookie policy for the full list.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data-protection law you have the right to request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, and to object to processing. To exercise any of these rights write to privacy@alvernoalpha.com from the email address you subscribed with. We respond within 30 days.
Data transfers
Our servers are in the United Kingdom. Newsletter delivery is handled by an SMTP provider located in the European Economic Area. We do not transfer personal data outside the UK or EEA.
